Mark your calendars! The 2025 New Jersey State Fair®/Sussex County Farm & Horse Show will take place from August 1 through August 9 at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, NJ — a summer tradition that blends local agriculture, thrilling entertainment, delicious fair food, and family fun in the heart of Northwest New Jersey.

This year’s fair promises something for everyone, from exhilarating rides on the midway and nightly grandstand events to animal shows, home arts competitions, and hands-on learning exhibits. Enjoy the return of fan favorites like the demolition derby, horse shows, tractor pulls, and monster truck shows. The fair also offers live music from local bands and regional acts across multiple stages, plus hundreds of vendors showcasing crafts, food, and products from across the Garden State.

The Fair continues to highlight its agricultural roots with 4-H displays, livestock shows, and interactive farm experiences that educate and inspire all ages. Whether you're here for the funnel cake, the farm animals, or the Ferris wheel, the New Jersey State Fair® offers nine days of authentic rural charm and big-time excitement.

Hundreds of volunteers from across Sussex County work very hard all year long to bring Sussex County’s signature event to life every summer.  Along with the support of generous sponsors, their efforts help to keep costs low, and fairgoers will again see no increase in the cost of admission.

There are tons of free family-friendly entertainment for fairgoers to enjoy every day.  And we encourage everyone to check out the great deals at the many food booths staffed by and supporting local charitable organizations.

The annual New Jersey State Fair®/Sussex County Farm & Horse Show has something for everyone, from sensory-friendly carnival rides on children’s day Tuesday 8/5 to heart racing action on the Crazy Mouse roller coaster.  Learn about agriculture’s past in the Snook Museum and meet today’s farmers proudly showing their livestock and forage exhibits.  From live honeybee demonstrations to learning how to make rope and finding your neighbor’s winning photo or art in the Richards Building, the fair includes traditional favorites and there’s always something new.  This year, we look forward to the Nerds concert in the Planet Networks Performing Arts Tent on Friday 8/8 and new championship truck and tractor pulls in the Outdoor Entertainment Area.
